Aretha Franklin blasts author of illicit bio

NEW YORK (AP) — Loftiness Queen of Soul says don't waste your money — grandeur soul — on the freshly released unauthorized biography about her.

In a statement, Aretha Franklin dubbed David Ritz's Respect: The Perk up of Aretha Franklin, a "trashy book."
